Our Admissions Policy:
Dreams Are Free Catholic School admits students of any race, religion, color, sex, national or ethnic origin, to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available. Students must be 5 years-old by September 1st of the current school year, and between Kindergarten and 9th grades. Dreams Are Free is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization recognized by the IRS.
Admissions Procedure:
Initial Visit: Please call us to set-up an appointment to tour our campus with our Principal. This gives you a chance to see the one-of-a-kind atmosphere of our school and to see our classes in action. The tour will include the entire campus, chapel, lunch room, community area, classrooms, technology lab, occupational and physical therapy rooms, speech therapy room, and play areas. After your tour, you are invited to meet with our Principal to discuss the student's current and future needs, goals and education expectations. If possible, please bring your child's IEP or 504 plan.
Tuition: You will meet with our Bookkeeper to discuss tuition and information on the John M. McKay scholarship. Tuition assistance, provided by Dreams Are Free directly to families, is available to those who qualify through Facts Grant and Aid Assessment.
Student Shadow: We invite your child to "shadow" a class. This allows your child to interact and make friends with our students, and to understand how the school functions. Students may shadow for one class, a half-day or full day. If your student is shadowing for a full day, he or she is also invited to eat lunch with our students. Students are encouraged to wear khaki pants for middle school, and navy pants to elementary school and a red or white polo shirt on their shadow day. Many of our student shadows are excited to return to school with their new friends!
Application for Admission: During your tour, you will receive a booklet with complete information about our school and an Application for Admission. Please complete this application, as well as attach a check for the amount discussed in your previous meetings with our Principal and Bookkeeper.
Questionnaire: Once your child has been accepted as a student, you will receive two questionnaires; a parent questionnaire and teacher questionnaire. These questionnaires are used to better understand the unique qualities of each student so he or she can receive the direct and individual attention we provide. Please return these questionnaires to the office as soon as possible.
If you should have any questions, concerns or need assistance in any way, please don't hesitate to contact our office at (941) 366-4010 or by e-mailing us. We're here to help!
