FAQ's

Q: Accreditation?
A: Dreams Are Free is a 501(©) 3 Nonprofit Organization. We are registered with the Florida Department of Education and we recognize and support the Sunshine State standards. Dreams Are Free is an affiliate member of the Florida Catholic Conference.
 
Q: What is the Tuition?
A: 2008-2009 $12,950.00
 
Q: What are the Fees?
A: Total $675.00. (Registration Fee: $225.00, Textbooks/supplies Fee: $425.00 & Home & School Assn. Fee: $25.00.)
 
Q: Scholarships?
A: The Dreams Are Free School is a John McKay Scholarship partner. To be eligible to participate in this scholarship program parents must file their "Intent to Participate" using the Florida School Choice website at: www.floridaschoolchoice.org. The scholarship amount is based on the needs of the student as indicated by the student's IEP (Individual Education Plan). Additional tuition assistance may be available depending on a student’s specific situation. Grants and private donations are sought throughout the year to supplement the tuition assistance that is available.
 
Q: Daily schedule?
A: School begins at 7:45 AM with dismissal at 2:45 PM.
 
Q: Before school program?
A: Our before school program is provided by St. Martha School from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Call 941-953-4181 for more information.
 
Q: After school program?
A: Our after school program is provided by St. Martha School from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM. Call 941-953-4181 for more information.
 
Q: Lunch?
A: A hot lunch is provided in the school cafeteria at a cost of $4.00 per day. Bag lunches may be sent with students. Microwave or refrigeration is NOT available.
 
Q: Medication?
A: Necessary medications can be arranged for dispensing with school administration.
 
Q: Uniforms?
A: The dress code for the Dreams Are Free School includes:
  • navy blue pants, shorts, or skirts - length suitable for young girls and boys, as determined by the Principal
  • solid color red, buttoned, polo shirt with collar - no logo
  • sneakers only
  • no jewelry
  • PE clothing: Dreams Are Free PE shirt with black shorts
 
Q: Sports?
A: Organized sports are available to students in equivalent grades 6-8. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, golf, and tennis are offered through St. Martha School.
 
Q: School calendar?
A: We coordinate our yearly calendar with the public schools for the convenience of our parents who have children in both catholic and private schools.
 
Q: Faith based program?
A: Dreams Are Free is a faith friendly school under the umbrella of the Catholic Diocese of Venice. Students of all religions are welcome.
